A border collie said to be 27 could make it into the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's oldest living dog.Bramble's owner Anne Heritage says she's still alert and active and goes for a walk four times a day near her home in Bridgwater, Somerse. The 43-year-old says she feeds her a vegan diet of rice, lentils and organic vegetables. Her partner Roy Franklin takes her swimming once a week at a canine hydrotherapy pool. A Guinness spokesman says the dog could be the oldest living and they are keen to examine any application.

* I have heard recently that Bramble, the vegan dog mentioned above, is still alive. That would make Bramble over 33 years old. Bramble eats an exclusively vegan diet of lentils, vegetables, and rice. Bramble goes for a swim every day, too!

Longest living Raw Food Dog, that I know of~

I have a friend who is a vegan raw fooder. His name is Rich, he lives completely off his own land in the middle of no where. He had a dog named Chevy. His dog also was a vegan raw fooder. Chevy lived to be 28 years old!!! Chevy died of old age in Rich's arms. Chevy never had any health problems. He was neutered, but had never had any shots or drugs of any kind.

This is what I believe to be normal. We think of long life spans such as Chevy's as a miracle. My dogs and cats lived to be 19, 22 and 24 years old! These ages are more like it! Every day people say to me, I have an old dog. I say, how old? They always tell me 9 or 10 years old. I of course, have to laugh!!! That is just too young to call old.  I truly believe if you feed your pets the right food, give them plenty of fresh water, no drugs and exercise them, they will live for a very long time.
